graduation

27 December 2011

WE ARE IN UTAH!!....but are leaving tomorrow. Sad day.We are going to miss seeing our family so often.

On our drive across the country, we are going make a few stops to see mine and Jared's sisters, that we haven't seen in FOREVER... so we are excited!

We should be across the country by Sunday. It is going to be a long crazy road trip...with a 1 year old, and a huge golden retriever in the back seat of our small Camry, but it will be fun!

Jared spoke at graduation last week, and it went very well, sooo proud of him.

I met my newest niece and nephew this week!! Snuggling with newborns all week definitely makes me want another one! They are so adorable, and I forget how tiny they are at first!

Ready to go

14 December 2011

Rexburg. The small college town I moved to when I was 18 years old... It's been home for the past 4 1/2 years of my life. Thanks for all of the fun memories, the amazing friends, the college degrees, and most of all, for a wonderful atmosphere where our strong family was built.

This is when Jared and I first started dating. We made "banana pancakes" if you cant tell what those are. haha

I had a lot of awesome/crazy/fun roomates, This one is Natalie. My first roomate..after our puppychow/muddie buddies war:

Coaching cheerleading at BYU-Idaho. SOO fun, and kinda makes me want to coach again! Maybe for a middle school cheer team? Someday.

Our crazy puppy Bauer....now he is 90lbs!

Some of our favorite couples to hang out with!

This is one of the things I will probably miss the most about Rexburg. Living right across the street from a temple!

Where our family was built:

Where our baby was born:

And here we are today!

We are just finishing up packing today, internet will be cancelled tomorrow, Jared speaks at graduation on Friday, and then we are on the road!

Noticing Silence= Naughty Toddler!

07 December 2011

Today Kyler was helping me pack up some boxes. I was taping up a box when I noticed silence. Now if you're a parent too, you know what I mean when I say "noticed silence".  Noticing silence almost always means that your child is up to no good.

Take today for example...this is what Kyler was up to, when I noticed silence:
He was just right next to me two seconds ago!
Slobber on the cardboard
The whole roll....gone.
It is incredibly hard NOT to laugh at moments like these. I wanted to tell him "No no Kyler! We don't play with the toilet paper roll" with a stern look on my face so that he would know it was wrong, but instead? I laugh and snap a picture.  Sooner or later I'm sure I will stop laughing at moments like these and he will get the point, but until then?
HA HA!!!

Good -Today

06 December 2011

Today I woke up KNOWING that today was going to be a bad day.  Our heater broke last night (it's -3 degrees outside) and our apartment is FREEZING. Kyler woke up an hour earlier than normal, which I know is going to throw his whole schedule off....and many other things that disappointed me. Then, I read something that totally changed my perspective, and inspired me to have a GOOD day, despite of how I thought it was going to go.

-Have I done any good in the world today?
-Have I helped anyone in need?
                                                    - Have I cheered up the sad and made someone feel glad?
If not, I have failed indeed.
                                                    - Has anyone’s burden been lighter today....
                                                    - Because I was willing to share?
                                                    - Have the sick and the weary been helped on their way?
                                                    - When they needed my help was I there?
                                                    - There are chances for work all around just now,
                                                    -opportunities right in our way.
-Do not let them pass by, saying, “Sometime I’ll try,”
-But go and do something today.

These are some of the lyrics to one of my favorite hymns. I know it's cheesy, but whenever I'm having a bad day, I KNOW that if I just stop what I'm doing and take the time to put myself in the right perspective, by reading something uplifting, (or saying a short prayer if there isn't time) that my day will significantly improve and I'm not doomed to an awful day.  It's a small thing, but it really does help. I have a lot to be grateful for. I'm happy with my life, and  today I'm going to focus on making others happy too. I know I'm not going to change the world by doing a little service for others, BUT:

We. Are. Moving!

04 December 2011

Jared's Graduation is on next Friday and then we are moving the very next day on the 17th! It is just temporary move until medical school starts next fall, but we are excited to escape the horrible Rexburg, Idaho winter, and enjoy some much warmer weather with my parents (and a little time at their beach house)

Jared got a job an awesome job that will be flexible with his work schedule and will allow him to fly out for medical school interviews when the time comes. (Interviews around Jan/Feb and we should know by April which school we are going to) So yeah, this job is AWESOME because he will being doing something medical related while he is interviewing. It is the perfect fit for us, and I'm excited to get to spend some time with my parents as we haven't seen a whole lot of them living on the opposite side of the country!

Christmas in his eyes!...but no presents yet. We need to get on that!
