Bauer goes Swimming!

27 May 2010

We took Bauer to the pond a few weeks ago...and well... see for yourself!

I'm gonna be one of "those" moms

18 May 2010

This is Bauer and his friend Tator playing outside our apartment. Our grass is finally green! (thank goodness)

I just uploaded all of the pictures from my camera to my computer. 15 out of 16 of the pictures were of Bauer, and I couldn't help but think to myself "oh no. i'm gonna be one of those moms." You know the ones im talking about...the kind that take a million pictures of their kids each day... Our baby isn't even born yet, but I already can't help taking millions of pictures of my puppy. He is just sooo cute! oh well. There is nothing wrong with being one of those moms, right melanie? ;) We just got back from the doctors today, and got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time! The doctor said the heart beat "sounds like a boy" We weren't surprised to hear this, because both jared and I both think it is going to be a boy too! What do you think it will be? Nobody has guessed a girl yet...

Jared must have taken this picture. You know how I know? BECAUSE BAUER IS NOT ALLOWED ON THE COUCH! I've been going to bed around 11:30 or 12 each night, but Jared has been staying up til 1am or 2am doing homework. I'm guessing that is when he snuck Bowbow up on the couch. mmmHmmm busted jared! but I have to admit, this picture did make me laugh. Bauer still sleeps in the weirdest positions! It's hard to snap a picture when he is actually sleeping though, because he has a camera radar and always wakes up, just before you snap the picture.

Your Happily Ever After

14 May 2010

I just read this amazing talk by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf Second Counselor in the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is so cute! You have to read it. It is meant for the young women but whatever, I liked it.
He started off by reading the first part in the Young Women Personal Progress book “You are a beloved daughter of Heavenly Father, prepared to come to the earth at this particular time for a sacred and glorious purpose." He then went on to say "isn’t it remarkable to know that our eternal Heavenly Father knows you, hears you, watches over you, and loves you with an infinite love? In fact, His love for you is so great that He has granted you this earthly life as a precious gift of “once upon a time,” complete with your own true story of adventure, trial, and opportunities for greatness, nobility, courage, and love. And, most glorious of all, He offers you a gift beyond price and comprehension. Heavenly Father offers to you the greatest gift of all—eternal life—and the opportunity and infinite blessing of your own “happily ever after.” But such a blessing does not come without a price. It is not given simply because you desire it. It comes only through understanding who you are and what you must become in order to be worthy of such a gift. For a moment, think back about your favorite fairy tale. In that story the main character may be a princess or a peasant; she might be a mermaid or a milkmaid, a ruler or a servant. You will find one thing all have in common: they must overcome adversity."

*This is so true, even in fairy-tales, all of the characters go through some kind of problem. Cinderella? Wicked step-mother and step-sisters and having to be their servant. Belle? living in a castle with a beast HELLO! Sleeping Beauty? kidnapped from her parents and lied to about who she was. They all have some kind of adversity, but you know what else they all have in common? Love and Happily-Ever-After. Our Heavenly Father loves us sooooo much, and what he wants more than anything... is for us to have our own happily ever after. None of us are perfect, but he provided us with a Savior, that through him we might become perfect. Thus, enabling us to enjoy the greatest blessing he has to offer us. Eternal life with our loved ones.

The belly

08 May 2010

From BEAN to a QUARTER to a PEACH by the end of this week. crazy!

Mel has been askin for pics of the belly, so here they are at 1, 2, and 3 months.

Most people can't see the difference, (then again i usually don't wear tight shirts like this) but if you look at the pics side by side, you really can tell! I think I kinda cheated on that last one because I had just eaten a HUGE meal, but that's okay.

Big Boy!

05 May 2010

I have an announcement to make. Bauer has officially graduated to a big boy collar! His puppy collar got too tight, so we splurged and bought him a fancy $5 collar at walmart. With his new big boy collar, comes the privilege of sleeping at the foot of our bed (instead of his crate) at night. We still put him in his crate when we leave home, but he doesn't seem to mind.

My cooking skills have been improving! With the exception of today. I burned Mac & Cheese. "How do you even do that?! " you might ask. Well...first you boil and drain the noodles and add all of the ingredients. Then, you take a bite and decide the noodles aren't cooked enough, so you add a little extra milk and put it on the heat for 2 minutes. Then, you return to the pot, to find your precious Mac & Cheese burnt and RUINED. Mac & Cheese is my favorite, and I have been making it for myself since I was about 5. I burn it for the first time now that i'm 21. Seem a little backwards to you? oh well...

Welp, I should probably get back to my mound of homework I have waiting for me.

Maybe

02 May 2010

It was warm outside today, so I decided to put a tropical background on the blog.... hoping to jinx the weather to stay that way :) We'll see, there was a 'hail mixed with snow' storm yesterday while we were out on our date night. We went to the dollar movie and saw "Diary of a Wimpy Kid". It was pretty funny! Definitely worth a dollar.

It's one of those movies that is fun to quote. Our favorite is: "Wanna see my secret lucky freckle?....(awkward pubescent voice) It has a HAIR in itttt!!! "

I haven't put a picture of Bauer up in a while, so here he is! Weighing in at 34lbs!

Poor little guy got neutered this week. This is what he did when we told him he would never be a daddy. "AAAAAAHHHHH!!!! You did whatttt?!?!?"

I picked Bauer up from the vet and he was still drunk from the anesthesia. I mean trippin over his paws, walking into doors... it was pretty sad. Ever since we brought him home though, he has been back to normal.

Jared made me cookies today :) Right before I took this pic he said "If you take any pictures you wont get any cookies!" I then snapped 3 more pics, and he still gave me all the cookies I wanted. I love him. He's gonna make a great daddy.
