27 December 2011

WE ARE IN UTAH!!....but are leaving tomorrow. Sad day.We are going to miss seeing our family so often.

On our drive across the country, we are going make a few stops to see mine and Jared's sisters, that we haven't seen in FOREVER... so we are excited!

We should be across the country by Sunday. It is going to be a long crazy road trip...with a 1 year old, and a huge golden retriever in the back seat of our small Camry, but it will be fun!

Jared spoke at graduation last week, and it went very well, sooo proud of him.

I met my newest niece and nephew this week!! Snuggling with newborns all week definitely makes me want another one! They are so adorable, and I forget how tiny they are at first!

Ready to go

14 December 2011

Rexburg. The small college town I moved to when I was 18 years old... It's been home for the past 4 1/2 years of my life. Thanks for all of the fun memories, the amazing friends, the college degrees, and most of all, for a wonderful atmosphere where our strong family was built.

This is when Jared and I first started dating. We made "banana pancakes" if you cant tell what those are. haha

I had a lot of awesome/crazy/fun roomates, This one is Natalie. My first roomate..after our puppychow/muddie buddies war:

Coaching cheerleading at BYU-Idaho. SOO fun, and kinda makes me want to coach again! Maybe for a middle school cheer team? Someday.

Our crazy puppy Bauer....now he is 90lbs!

Some of our favorite couples to hang out with!

This is one of the things I will probably miss the most about Rexburg. Living right across the street from a temple!

Where our family was built:

Where our baby was born:

And here we are today!

We are just finishing up packing today, internet will be cancelled tomorrow, Jared speaks at graduation on Friday, and then we are on the road!

Noticing Silence= Naughty Toddler!

07 December 2011

Today Kyler was helping me pack up some boxes. I was taping up a box when I noticed silence. Now if you're a parent too, you know what I mean when I say "noticed silence".  Noticing silence almost always means that your child is up to no good.

Take today for example...this is what Kyler was up to, when I noticed silence:
He was just right next to me two seconds ago!
Slobber on the cardboard
The whole roll....gone.
It is incredibly hard NOT to laugh at moments like these. I wanted to tell him "No no Kyler! We don't play with the toilet paper roll" with a stern look on my face so that he would know it was wrong, but instead? I laugh and snap a picture.  Sooner or later I'm sure I will stop laughing at moments like these and he will get the point, but until then?
HA HA!!!

Good -Today

06 December 2011

Today I woke up KNOWING that today was going to be a bad day.  Our heater broke last night (it's -3 degrees outside) and our apartment is FREEZING. Kyler woke up an hour earlier than normal, which I know is going to throw his whole schedule off....and many other things that disappointed me. Then, I read something that totally changed my perspective, and inspired me to have a GOOD day, despite of how I thought it was going to go.

-Have I done any good in the world today?
-Have I helped anyone in need?
                                                    - Have I cheered up the sad and made someone feel glad?
If not, I have failed indeed.
                                                    - Has anyone’s burden been lighter today....
                                                    - Because I was willing to share?
                                                    - Have the sick and the weary been helped on their way?
                                                    - When they needed my help was I there?
                                                    - There are chances for work all around just now,
                                                    -opportunities right in our way.
-Do not let them pass by, saying, “Sometime I’ll try,”
-But go and do something today.

These are some of the lyrics to one of my favorite hymns. I know it's cheesy, but whenever I'm having a bad day, I KNOW that if I just stop what I'm doing and take the time to put myself in the right perspective, by reading something uplifting, (or saying a short prayer if there isn't time) that my day will significantly improve and I'm not doomed to an awful day.  It's a small thing, but it really does help. I have a lot to be grateful for. I'm happy with my life, and  today I'm going to focus on making others happy too. I know I'm not going to change the world by doing a little service for others, BUT:

We. Are. Moving!

04 December 2011

Jared's Graduation is on next Friday and then we are moving the very next day on the 17th! It is just temporary move until medical school starts next fall, but we are excited to escape the horrible Rexburg, Idaho winter, and enjoy some much warmer weather with my parents (and a little time at their beach house)

Jared got a job an awesome job that will be flexible with his work schedule and will allow him to fly out for medical school interviews when the time comes. (Interviews around Jan/Feb and we should know by April which school we are going to) So yeah, this job is AWESOME because he will being doing something medical related while he is interviewing. It is the perfect fit for us, and I'm excited to get to spend some time with my parents as we haven't seen a whole lot of them living on the opposite side of the country!

Christmas in his eyes!...but no presents yet. We need to get on that!

28 November 2011

Thanksgiving this year was AWESOME. As usual.
We  celebrated the day with family from both Jared's side, and mine.

Sorry for posting sooo many pictures. They are just too cute not to post.

Cousin Maelee

Cousins Max and Kaeleigh (Bauer's nose is so long and skinny he can reach every last drop!)

Kyler pushing around his birthday present!

I looooove this picture. Cousin Jack holding kyler and watching Maelee...and I love the mountains in the background too. LOVE

Cousin Charley!
With mine and Jared's families combined, we have 20 nieces and nephews! and will have TWO new ones born in December, which will make the grand total 22!!  I love our big family

I broke the rule

22 November 2011

Kyler is a year old, and has decided that he is too old to take naps and sleep in his crib.  I don't know why but these last two days have been HORRIBLE getting him to sleep!  Usually I put him in his crib, and he'll play and then fall asleep. but these past few days, he cries when I put him in his crib! When I pick him up he is fine...i'll rock him to sleep..and then he cries again when I put him back in his crib. He is usually a pretty solid sleeper too, but the last few nights he will randomly wake up in the middle of the night crying! What in the world is going on here?  SOOO last night, I broke our rule, and let him sleep with us. (after he fell asleep with us we transferred him to his crib later.) One of the reasons we decided not to have our baby sleep with us, is because I think it is a big safety hazard! Also, I don't want him to get attached to sleeping with us, and STILL want to sleep with us when he is 7 years old, and not so little.

Anyways, so after he fell into a solid sleep, we put him back in his crib, and a good thing too, because he was taking up half the bed!
Obviously this is not my child...but exactly how he fell asleep~

His foot kept jabbing me in the ribcage with his foot and his hand kept slapping Jared's face... then he would flip around upside-down, fart, and then roll over again tossing and turning, while flailing his arms. Repeat.

I know it is pretty common for parents to sleep with their babies... some people think that it helps build strong bonds and emotional ties, but I really don't understand how other parents get any sleep? Or maybe ours child is just a crazy sleeper compared to most? hmmmm.... just thinking about that today.
Besides going to the doctors (previous post below) and sleeping at night....lol... he is still our normal happy smiley boy.

Kyler had his first taste of pizza this week!

Doctor-DOCTOR-

18 November 2011

Well, if we've learned anything today, it's that Kyler HATES doctors.
(good thing his daddy is going to become one some day. lol)
Kyler went in for his one year check-up and immunizations today.

Just a few highlights:
  • Kyler refusing to look at the Doctor in the eyes because he was scared of him.
  • Kyler SCREAMING when he got put on the scratchy paper with no clothes on.
  • Kyler SCREAMING when the doctor looked in his ear.
  • Kyler SCREAMING when 3 people had to hold him down to give him his shots
  • oh yeah and Kyler SCREAMING when they stuck him with 5 needles for his actual shots.
His Lightning McQueen car was his only comforting aspect of the visit. He loves his car.

    His 12 month stats:
He weighs 22lbs (41%) and is 30 inches (66%) tall and has a head circumference of 18 inches (31%)

    Kyler's FIRST birthday!!

    17 November 2011

Today was Kyler's FIRST birthday!!!  We cannot believe a whole year has already gone by. He has brought us SO much joy, laughter, and love into our lives. We were just looking at his newborn pictures and its crazy seeing how much he has changed, since then.
We kept his birthday simple. We picked out a present, and then celebrated with just us and a cupcake :)

    Happy Birthday Kyler!

    Diet ....Food

    16 November 2011

Jare walks into the kitchen and sees me mixing:
    -butter-
    -chocolate chips-
    -whipped marshmallow cream-
    -cake-batter-
    - and rice krispies-
all together in a bowl.  He looks at me and says two words.

    “Diet food?”
     LOL

    Enter here…diet jokes:

-My box of chocolates is OUT OF SIGHT, and I'm OUT OF MY MIND.

-Where do you go to get anorexia?

-Inside some of us is a thin person struggling to get out, but they can usually be sedated with a few pieces of chocolate cake.

-I keep trying to lose weight... but it keeps finding me!

-I'm on a seafood diet.  I see food and I eat it.

-When I buy cookies I eat just four and throw the rest away.
But first I spray them with Raid so I won’t dig them out of the garbage later.
Be careful, though, because that Raid really doesn’t taste that bad.

    Run Kyler RUN!!!

    15 November 2011

Run Kyler RUN!! Our crazy baby REALLY wants to run, but just can't quite walk yet...so he discovered a new way to make it work! He does this ALL of the time! It's quite entertaining.

    BROWN

    10 November 2011

I sometimes forget about my friends and family that haven't joined the facebook world yet and don't know the latest and greatest with the Antczak fam...haha sorry I love you but really....get a facebook already!
(That includes you too dad. haha)

Anyways, as of last week, I'm a brunette again!

I wasn't planning on it so soon...I wanted to go back more gradually, but it kinda happened on accident.  I went to a BEAUTY school. lol ENOUGH SAID.  I walked in and asked the girl to touch up my roots and add in a few light brown lowlights, and her response was:
"I HAVE NEVER DIED HAIR BEFORE! You are my first!"
Believe me, that was REAL comforting to hear.  Couldn't she have at least waited until after she was done to tell me that?  I was nervous the entire time....and yes by "entire time" I mean the whole 5 hours I was there.
It seriously took THAT long.  Oh well, alls well ends well. or however that saying goes. I am back to my natural color.

Helping momma get ready for the day

    07 November 2011

When Kyler is fussy in the mornings, I put him in the sink while I get ready, and he looooves it!
ps aren't you jealous of our banana yellow bathroom counter? haha moving in 38 dayz and counting down!

    Family Home Movie Sept-Oct

    04 November 2011

Family home movie of Sept and Oct 2011. Just a warning, they are REALLY random clips, because we did so many different things these past two months- yellowstone, bear world, conference in salt lake, Kyler’s firsts haircut and taste of pepsi, the farmer’s market, the strawmaze….you’ll see what I mean!

    FIRST WORD

    01 November 2011

Kyler (11 months old) said his first official word today! It was..... BAUER! or in his words "Bow/Bow-bee".  It's so cute! He kept saying it all day long whenever Bauer would come into the room. I love hearing his little voice.

Kyler and Bauer = best buds

ps, those of you with babies..show them this clip:  Twinkle Twinkle Little Star  Kyler LOVES it.

    Maze

Kyler has had a cold this week, so Jared put the humidifier (Sunpentown Dual Mist Humidifier) in his room...little did we know, but that humidifier works a little TOO well when you turn it on full blast.

I walked in his room a few hours later to check on him, and when I opened the door, a cloud of mist came pouring out of the room.  Kyler's sheets and blankets and stuffed animals were completely soaked!  We have an AWESOME humidifier! We had a good laugh, turned the humidifier on low, changed his sheets, and put him back to bed. He was a good little baby and didn't make a peep!

On Saturday we went to a straw maze with some friends, and we went back again on Monday night for the HAUNTED straw maze. Sooo fun! The maze was hard to begin with, but then when you add darkness, and creepers with chainsaws chasing you, it becomes REALLY hard.  I learned that I'm a bigger wimp than I thought I was. Every time I saw a dude with a chainsaw.... I would try to run away (good strategy right?) but EVERY TIME  my knees would buckle and I fell flat on my face. What am I supposed to do in real life when a creeper is chasing me?  Anyways, it was still fun :)

The straw maze thanked us for coming back to the maze twice by giving us a $10 coupon to Big Judds. Awesome.  We love Big Judds, last time we were there we got the 2 lb Big Judds Cheeseburger.
Kyler looks like he was scared of it, but it was oh so yummy!

    Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging

    26 October 2011

Don't really know what to blog about right now.  I don't have any cute pictures to post, nothing exciting has happened lately.....hmmmm.... I guess I'll just start typing, and we'll see where this goes! Today I woke up at 4am. WHY?  I have noooo idea, but I just laid in bed wide awake for half an hour tossing and turning, and trying to fall asleep, then I got worried I was keeping Jared awake too, so I decided to go in the living room and watch a movie...I always fall asleep when I watch movies!
    WRONG.
I put in a movie that I got at the library yesterday called "Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging".
Don't judge the title, it's Nickelodeon movie okay! I got it because one of my friends read the book, and recommended it.  Anyways, I thought the movie was HILARIOUS.  It's a teeny bopper movie...you know like: A Cinderella Story... She's the Man...etc. So if you don't like those type of movies, don't bother with this one.  I liked it though :)

Halloween Party and Cake Batter Bars!

    22 October 2011

We went to our church Halloween party today! It was fun dressing up. We went as Nintendo characters. Jared was Mario, I was Princess Peach, and Kyler was Toad (the little mushroom). We didn't want to waste a lot of money on expensive costumes (that we would only wear once) So I decided to make them! Jared was such a good sport. I found his overalls at the DI in the Ladies section with Winnie the Pooh and Piglet patches all over them (nothing a seam ripper can't fix!) hahaha and then I made the rest of his and kyler's costumes out of felt and hot glue. Mine was a little more tricky, so I ended up just wearing my wedding dress and putting pink fabric on top of it.

They didn't turn out to be the cutest costumes in the world, but hey, for making all three of our costumes for under 15 bucks, NOT BAD!

    Introducing:
    CAKE BATTER BARS

This recipe will definitely be going under the "Recipe Likes" tab! My absolute FAVORITE ice cream in the world is from Coldstone, and it is called Birthday Cake Remix (which uses cake batter ice cream)  Anyways, so anything with the words CAKE BATTER in it always grabs my attention. I saw the recipe and decided to give it a try!  Mine didn't LOOK nearly as pretty as the picture I copied and pasted from the internet, but boy did they taste YUMMY! and the best part? SO easy to make.  Oh and I almost forgot to add: Sorry if you are on a diet. You may now consider yourself doomed.

    • 1 1/4 cup funfetti cake mix
    • 3/4 cup AP flour
    • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
    • 3/4 cup butter, melted and slightly cooled
    • 1 egg
    • 1 egg yolk
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar
    • 5 heaping tablespoons sprinkles of your choice
    1. Preheat oven to 350F. Grease an 8 x 8 inch pan.
    2. Cream both sugars, butter, vanilla, egg, and egg yolk.
    3. Gradually mix in flour, cake mix, and baking soda until just mixed. Stir in sprinkles.
    4. Spread batter evenly into greased pan.
    5. Bake for 30ish minutes until top is lightly browned and middle still jiggles slightly. Cool completely before cutting.

    SUPERMAN!

    17 October 2011

This isn't Kyler's REAL Halloween Costume, pictures of that one coming later... This used to be one of Kyler's cousin's Halloween costumes. It is kind of big on him, but it still looks adorable. He is wearing it everywhere we go today  :)

    10-15-11

    15 October 2011

I'm a little behind on blogging.  It's been a busy past few weeks!  I finally finished selling my products at the Rexburg Farmer's Market yesterday!  It was fun, and a great way to earn a little extra money :)

Two weeks ago, Jared and I were able to attend General Conference in Salt Lake City! It was AWESOME :)

It was also fun seeing the fam...my nieces and nephews are growing up so fast!

Kyler is growing up too! It is like he is trying to turn into my little boy instead of baby. Shame on him!

    Alarm clocks

    29 September 2011

Jared and I had a random discussion on alarm clocks this morning, and I thought it would be fun to take a Poll. How many times do YOU push the snooze button in the morning?

    First Haircut

    28 September 2011

Last night for our FHE activity, we
(actually jared, {I distracted ky with Popsicles and toys to get him to hold still!})
    gave Kyler his first haircut!
It was getting to the point where I could make a ponytail in the back, so I said "that's it, it's time!"
and off went his baby hair.
okay so you cant really tell too much in the picture, and it was wet after so it looks funny. haha  I'll have to take a new pic.

(Side note- we saved a little of his baby hair in a bag to put in his baby book, and writing this post made me question where it was.  So I just asked Jared and he said "I put it on your side of the bed." Ewwwww! hahaha Of all places, why there?! Men :p )

Jared and I have been really good about working out these last couple months.
Last week I hit my -40lbs (30 of those pounds were from pregnancy) since this time last year mark.
So here's a pic of me in those favorite tiny jeans from High School I kept hidden in the back of the closet for 3 years in hopes of SOME DAY fitting in them again.  Low and behold, that day has come :) Protein shakes, healthy food and visiting the gym almost everyday...brings results!

Jared is back in the school/work groove, and has already gotten some secondary applications to medical school!

Kyler is FINALLY teething!!!  The tooth hasn't broken through yet, but his bottom gums are really puffy and sensitive.  He is the drool king, and EVERYTHING goes straight to his mouth these days... even his car seat shade:

    goober.
Kyler weighs just over 20lbs now... and his cute baby thigh rolls are getting smaller (sad!)
He will be going to college before we know it!

    BOO

    22 September 2011

Kyler has become quite the messy eater these days.  He prefers to feed himself...as if you cant tell.
    This picture cracks me up.

See ya summer... you've been great!

    16 September 2011

Whew! It looks like Jared survived his LAST FIRST week of college.  Jared only needed 2 more classes to graduate, but he decided that he wanted to take 4 classes for fun. This confuses me. Oh and by fun, I mean classes like Advanced Neuroscience and Histology with a three hour lab. This confuses me further.
Husband-that's-handsome-and-talented-say WHAT!??! (sorry been a little Hannah Montana deprived lately)
No but really, I love how he never takes the easy way out, and does the best he can at everything. Way to go babe!
OH, and also this week, he submitted his application to medical school!!!!!!

Last week, Jared's parents were here, and we had so much fun! We went to lots of fun places like: Bear World, Yellow Stone, and Jackson, Wyoming to see my brother in-law, Sean, finish a 206 mile bike race!

oh you know, just a black bear right in front of our car. no biggie.
The scariest bear in all of Bear World.

Grandpa had to take this picture to show to Mark....WHITE ELK.

Here is the promised family home movie.  It's so cute, I just can't stop watching it. We had such a fun summer.  I turned the heater on this morning because its FREEZING here today..boooo! Good bye summer, you've been great!
