Happiest Kid on the Block.

26 June 2012

Seriously? I've never seen a happier kid in my life.
I'm getting my hair colored/chopped off tomorrow, and then we are heading to the beach for a week on Friday, sooo excited!

He is adorable. I'm glad he is ours forever.

Father's Day 2012

18 June 2012

Jared and Kyler have a  very strong relationship. I love it.
Everyday when Jared gets home from work, Kyler runs to him with open arms, and does as pictured above. Then, Ky begs to be tickled, and of course Jared consents. (I've never seen him refuse an opportunity to tickle) and then Kyler laughs his deep belly-gut giggle, and I watch the two of them together and can't help but grin from ear to ear. I love these boys.
Yesterday we had my own amazing dad over for Father's Day dinner, as well as my brother Calvin, and his wife Courtney. We love living near family, but are sure missing the ones that live so far away! Especially Jared's dad in Utah, we love and miss you Grandpa Antcak, Happy Father's Day!

19 months!

16 June 2012

This little boy turned 19 months old today!
We love him so much!  The newest thing about this little guy, is his vocabulary exploded this last month. I stopped counting the number of words he can say, because he learns several new words everyday. Yay! Proud mom and dad in this house :)

Last week, Kyler woke up from his nap and was talking to himself in his crib. I cracked open the door to listen to him, but as soon as he saw me, he laid down and pretended to sleep. LOL He has been doing this fake snoring thing lately, it cracks me up.

He is so curious about life, and it is fun watching things "click" for him.We have been doing a lot of swimming lately. I got Kyler's old blowup pool out, and he has loved that.  He kept looking at the flowers and saying "FLOWUH!!" Then he would rip it off its' stem and throw it in the pool. He did this about 500393299 times. Such a boy.
We are getting a lawnmower today, and getting rid of the weeds, so this was the last time he got to play that game.

We also went to my parent's big neighborhood pool this week too. It has a splash park for little kids... it was quite the adventure for Ky.

We are looking forward to celebrating Father's Day tomorrow!

Getting Settled

13 June 2012

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I've been so busy unpacking and getting settled in. It is a very long process with a toddler. (Isn't everything?) It's cute watching him try to "help" us with things though. I'm happy to report that every single box is unpacked, and all of the items are where they should go! Wooohoo! Now we are on to the decorating process, which will definitely take longer than a few weeks to complete. Here are some pictures of our progress so far.
This is the entryway:
My parents brought back a board from the beach, and Jared made it into coat rack! I will have to take a close up of it next time. He distressed it, kinda like this http://pinterest.com/pin/68398488060611026/ which is where we got the idea from.

The living room is starting to come together too. We still have some pics to hang and a few other minor details, but you get the idea:

Our TV seemed large for our small apartment in college, but now it fits perfectly in our living room. I'm glad we bought it when we did though, because not only did we get it on sale for a good price, but now we are busy buying other necessities like a kitchen table and couch, and definitely wouldn't spend money on a new tv now.
Jared added lights from ikea onto the back of the tv. I think it looks cool!

Our entire house is painted the same color. I like the color, but I wanted something different for Kyler's room. At the same time, I didn't want to spend a whole lot of time and money. Sooo.. I went to the store and got a tiny can of crisp white paint, and my dad and I painted white stripes onto one wall in his room. I'll do a before and after shot of his room:
BEFORE:
His room is the size of my pinky toe.
AFTER:
I love the way it turned out! It adds fun character and makes the room seem bigger.  I know his polkadot bedding doesn't match, but that will change when we switch him into a toddler bed, so I'm just leaving it for now.

Here is Ky "helping" daddy put our table together:
And here is the finished product:

We are putting the decorating on hold for a while, we are both exhausted, and so is our wallet. Our bedroom, front room, 2 bathrooms and the 3rd bedroom are going to have to wait a while before they get decorated. I'll post pics when I do though!

New House

04 June 2012

We have been living out of suitcases for the past 5 months. On Friday, all of our things arrived from Utah! Special thanks to the Antczaks for loading it up for us, and special thanks to the Schrammies for helping us UN-load it!  Everything we owned fit into this tiny moving storage pod:
Surprisingly nothing broke on the pod's journey across the country. HALLELUJAH!!  Glass picture frames...mirrors...plasma tv...etc are all still in perfect condition, even after several items tumbled out when we opened the doors.

We sold most of our large furniture items before we moved from Idaho. It has been fun getting a few new things for our new (rental) house! We are currently in the process of unpacking, but here are some pictures I took before we unloaded the pod: (forgot to take one of the outside of the house? Woops!)

We have been in the house for 2 days now and besides being completely exhausted from unpacking, we love it! It is so nice to have a place to call home for a while (for at least one year).
