What Matters?

30 July 2012

It seems like our summer is just flying by. We're finally adjusted to the new house, and we've already made so many new friends.  Jared is loving his work with Carolinas Healthcare System, and my preschool is coming together-I'm already starting to get students! I am really excited about it. Here is my preschool's website : Little Learners Preschool.

I love that I will be able to still stay home with Kyler (best job in the world) but also help other parents out by teaching, which is another thing I love!

Jared took this pic of Kyler through the door peep hole at nursery during church. Ky turned around and looked at the door right as he took the picture (as if he knew he was there hah)

Kyler also learned how to  "say prayers" this week. Look how he folds his arms, it is adorable!
His prayers mostly go like this: "Diddle deedle diddle deedle, deedus, ahmen!" and ends with a head nod and throwing his arms in the air. It's pretty cute, until you are actually at church and you can't hear the Sacrament prayer over Kyler's loud deedles, but oh well! He's cute :)

Lastly, I just love this. If you have time, watch it!

Toddler Bed

15 July 2012

A few weeks ago, when Kyler discovered how to climb out of his crib, we converted his crib into a TODDLER bed.  The transition went a lot more smoothly than I thought it would!  I didn't want to make the transition until he was two years old, but hey, he will be two in a few months, and like Jared said-He was ready.  Here is his new big boy bed:
His room looks a little bare right now, because I moved most of his toys to the (hopefully) soon to be pre-school room!  I'm in planning mode right now, and if everything works out the way it's supposed to, I will have my preschool up and running by this fall.  SUPER exciting, as it's something I've been wanting to do for a long time.

I made these little silhouette pictures for over Kyler's bed this week. The frames were $1.50 each from Ikea, and the paper was practically free. I think they turned out pretty cute, if I do say so myself. haha
In addition to Kyler transitioning to a big boy bed, he has also been growing big boy teeth this week. He now has 2 1/2 molars! I can't believe how fast they are coming in.

Kyler Movie 17-20 months

11 July 2012

I popped my SD card from my video camera into my laptop to create Kyler's next movie, but when I opened up the files I was shocked to find that I had only taken TWO short video clips in the past 3 months. Wooop! Slacker mom right here. So I had to resort to using video clips from my phone, which makes for a very grainy poor quality movie, but hey, it works.  Here is Kyler 17months-20 months.

Like Father like Son

09 July 2012

This is my first post from my phone, so hopefully this works! Jared cut kyler's hair! Now my handsome boys have the same hair style.

July 4th 2012

Our fourth of July went a little like this:
and ended with fireworks here.
The show wasn't anything big and fancy like Stone Mountain, but it was a small southern town celebration, and we loved it. :)

A Storm to Remember

04 July 2012

We just got back from the beach. We had an awesome time.  Everyone in my family (except the Roggias) was able to make it this year (they missed out!).  Kyler of course decided that family reunion would be a perfect time to grow in two molars. He was miserable with a fever, but kept up his good spirit. We had to leave a little earlier than we wanted, due to Jared having to work, Kyler being feverish, and nobody to take Bauer out at home, but we enjoyed every minute of our time at the Lucky Leaf!  My parents just painted it green! (it used to be yellow) and it looks really good.

Also last week, Kyler (my non-climbing toddler that I always brag about) discovered how to climb out of his crib, so we made the switch to the TODDLER BED. I bawled my eyes out at least 4 times (ask jared). It was like saying goodbye to my baby for me. Pictures of his new big boy bed to come, but for now, here are some pics of our time at the beach and my new haircut/color!

Selfie!! bahahah had to document I actually put make up on once.

My dad caught 3 crabs in his crab trap!
We had lot's of fun cousin playing time.
Jared and I caught some awesome waves boogie boarding. The ocean was PERFECT swimming temperature.

While we were out on our back deck taking family pictures, a ginormous storm swept over us. It was BEAUTIFUL.
The storm was beautiful, but it made for some very windblown hair for family pictures, and I was wearing a flowy babydoll style shirt, and the wind blew it out, so I look like I'm pregnant in all of our family pictures (I'm not!). I won't be posting the bad ones haha.

Kyler LOVED the storm, and kept clapping every time he saw lightning, so most of our pictures ended up looking like this (blurry because he was clapping his hands) anyway. He is so silly.
I love my boys!
We'll always remember the beautiful storm that interrupted our family pictures.
