Peace Out Rexburg

27 December 2010

Last week I noticed Kyler had a few red bumps on his face. I thought it was just a little bit of baby acne or something, but then, the bumps spread all over his face, so jared and I looked it up online and looked at pictures and we thought Kyler had baby eczema, which is just itchy dry skin bumps.  So we got him some eczema cream, but the bumps just got worse!  His face got all red and puffy, and some of the skin was peeling off, so I took him to the doctor.  The doctor said that it was just a newborn rash, and a facial version of cradle cap.  He recommended a different facial cream to use, and said come back if anything changes.  Well, two days later the bumps spread down his neck, chest, and tummy!  So, I took him back to the doctors, and they said that the rash is actually an allergic reaction to something he is eating....which basically means something that I'M eating.  Sooo he told me to cut out dairy products, nuts, and berries out of my diet, and so far Kyler's rash has gotten better and better everyday.

Here's his little Santa suit that grandma got him:

 Baby's first Christmas!

Jared blessed Kyler at church yesterday.  It was a very special day for the little guy.

Jared's sister and his 2 brothers and their families all came to celebrate with us!

It has been a fun weekend, but now for the hard part...PACKING for California. ughhh.  So goodbye blog!  Goodbye facebook! Goodbye Gmail!  Hopefully we will meet again in a few weeks.

Oh yeah, Jared wanted me to add Bauer's Birthday Video to the blog for all of my nieces and nephews to see.  I wasn't gonna post it up here, because it's kind of embarrassing that we threw our dog a birthday party like the one he had...  I promise we aren't weirdo obsessive dog lovers.  We just thought it would be funny... I swear!

Just for fun, we threw Bauer and his brother Diesel a birthday party this week!  We invited 8 of their doggy friends, and let them eat Dog Birthday Cake.  Yes, there is such a thing.  It is made of peanut butter, honey, and carrots...all of the dogs LOVED it.  Here are some of my fav pix:

My inlaws are here, and I am LOVING it!  Kyler is getting spoiled by grandma, Bauer is getting spoiled by grandpa, and Jared and I are getting spoiled by both of them!  They drove up here on Tuesday from Utah, and are going to help us move us to California on Thursday.  We tried to convince them not to, because it is a long drive, and A LOT of work, but they insisted!  They really are some of the nicest people I've ever met.

4 weeks!

New Adventure

13 December 2010

For our Church's Christmas Party last Friday, we got to play the parts of Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus

This week, we learned that Kyler LOVES his car seat. and by LOVES I mean he loves to sleep in it!  Within 2 minutes of being strapped in, he falls asleep for a good 2-3 hour nap. It's niiiice.
Last week, we secured an apartment in California for us to live in while Jared does his medical research internship at UC Davis.  We are excited for this new adventure, and SOOO excited to be leaving Rexburg during the winter months.  However, I'm not too excited about the whole 14 hour road trip with a newborn and 70lb dog in the car.  Did I mention that we are not taking a uhaul or moving truck?  Or that our new apartment will not be furnished?  We are only taking what we can fit in our little toyota camry, and what we need to survive. Kyler will sleep in his PackNPlay.  Jared and I will sleep on an air mattress, and Bauer will have his crate. We will bring clothes and a few other essentials, and that is IT.  We'll only be gone for 3 months, so it wasn't worth it to us to pay to have all of our stuff moved to California, just to move it back here in a few months.  So we will put all of our furniture in storage, and only take what we need. Kinda makes me nervous, but hey, if people survived in the olden days without all of the "stuff" we have today, then so can we. I think.

Bauer's growin up!

06 December 2010

Bauer will be ONE in a few weeks, so we got him his first bag of adult dog chow!
Did he like it? you may ask....

He loooooved it!! We put it into his food bin, and he ate it straight from the bucket.

Also this week, we took Ky out on a few outings! ....but he slept the whole time and just stayed in his car seat with the cover over it, so im not sure that counts. Next week we will brave up and take him to church with us!
